Aleph Null Calendar
The Aleph Null calendar is made from what is known in canon and tweaked to be functional.
A solar sweep is equivalent to 2 earth years with a few more days added on for the sake of canon's 2.167 to 1. The months are known as a “bilunar perigee” and there are 2 in every season. There are 2 seasons dim and dark where the original planet's access was tilted towards or away from their star making the days/nights longer or shorter. Because the original alternia has a longer solar year and is likely on more of a tilt this calendar has 6 equinoxes.

On the calendar there are multiple events some stated as empire recognized, societal recognized and lastly important dates.

Empire recognized dates are actual holidays that are free days from work, societal ones are not recognized by companies or the empire but are still celebrated.

Empire recognized nights:

New Sweeps and New Sweeps Eve: the second half of the two night celebration for the turning of the sweep. The Empress/Emperor usually starts the second night the celebration at the turning with a ceremonial speech to the empire and a massive royal banquet. The celebration was traditionally a time to honour ancestors and past rulers and to welcome good fortune into the new sweep. All over the empire it is celebrated with military parades and massive holographic shows.
Night of the Empress/Emperor, Night of the Empire and Night of the Emissary: These 3 nights are held on the 3d perigee of the sweep and the first dark season. They are celebrated all over the empire every sweep with massive celebrations. These nights serve 2 purposes and all work together. It also has the specific tie to 3 because of the 3 prongs of the trident and the three pillars of alternia.
-
The Night of the Empress/ Emperor changes its name depending on who is the crowned ruler. This night is purely to celebrate that ruler, their achievements and their prosperity. Alternatively this night is used for when a tyrian troll turns 50 sweeps and they are given the choice to challenge the crown or to become an emissary. On that night they must make that choice.

-
Night of the Empire celebrates the empire itself and all its citizens that build it from lowbloods to highbloods. Alternatively this night is used for the ceremonial celebration of the 50 sweep old tyrian troll who has either chosen to be an Emissary or fight for the crown. If they chose to become an emissary there will be a ceremony held on that night and broadcast all over the empire, they will essentially tie themselves to the empire itself vowing to uphold and serve it as an Emissary. If the crown is challenged this is the night when you will fight the ruling Empress/Emperor and that will be broadcast over the empire for as long as the battle lasts.

-
Night of the Emissary is the last night where the newly appointed Emissary is celebrated; they are more important than the ruling power on that night. That is also the night where they will be gifted their first ever colony planet by the ruling power. Alternatively If the challenging tyrian troll failed they will be respectfully celebrated and laid to rest while still celebrating the continued rule of the Empress/Emperor. If the battle is won by the young tyrian they will on that night be crowned the new ruling power and all of the other Emissaries will need to recognise them as the new ruler of the empire reciting their own vows they said when they became Emissaries and pledging their allegiance to the new ruler. Any Emissary who refuses to acknowledge the new ruler will be culled.
Her Unassailable Luminary’s Hatching: This is the night that the current Empress hatched and it is celebrated all over the empire. It mostly focuses on her and wishing her a prosperous life and a long rule. This date changes depending on the ruler as of right now it is her.
Fleet’s Festival: This night is to celebrate the Alternian military and all of the active soldiers and enlisted trolls. The festival is to thank them for their ongoing service and protection of the empire.
Victor’s Night: this is historically the night when the summoner’s rebellion ended, while he is mostly forgotten by history the event is held to celebrate the military and all of its soldiers, past and present. On this night all over the empire you would pay your respects to those that die during their service or those who have served in the past as well as those still in service.
The Week of Silence: This week is completely to pay respects to all those who died in both the sufferer and summoner’s rebellions, highbloods and lowbloods alike. It is a week of mourning for all the lost souls who died because of the rebellions on both sides, the ones who were on the rebels side for their naive misguided attempts at overthrowing the empire and for all those who gave their lives to uphold the old empire.
Festival of Spilled Iron: this celebration is to the empire overcoming the sufferer. His execution was supposed to be on that night hence the "spilled iron". There is the tradition of kids getting bright candy red dye/ink or paint and throwing it at each other like they are spilling that blood all over again. Even the adults in the colonies still do it. Its like Holi in India almost, but way darker. At the end of the night there are these huge hologram shows that go through an artistic representation of the whole battle between the ruling power and the sufferer. Yes they make him the monster. It ends with everything turning fuchsia to show off how they overcame it all.

Societal recognized nights:
Moirail’s Night: A night to celebrate Moirails, usually time is set aside to spend time with your moirail and some trolls tend to give gifts to their moirails.
Matesprite’s Night: A night to celebrate a trolls red quadrant significant other, akin to Valentine’s day on earth. This night most trolls set aside some time to spend with their mates.
First Dark Season’s Festival: This is the first night of the dark season most of the events on this night celebrate the first dark season of the new sweep.
Auspices’s Night: A night to celebrate one’s Auspice and usually to thank them for all the work they do to keep someone's friend groups in check or just helping out by being a mediator since alternans as we know can get very violent.
Kismessis’s Night: A night to celebrate one's Kismessis, usually one spends their time with their Kismessis setting aside time to spend with them. There are a lot of competition type games and events marketed during this time.
Handmaiden’s night: The equivalent of day of the dead and Halloween mixed into one. Mostly enjoyed by kids as a fun time to pull pranks on one another and go to parties dressed up as their ancestors or figureheads they really like and have flarp games. This tradition leaks into adult life too, usually having their own parties and getting together with friends even if no one dresses up.
12th Perigee’s Eve: The last night of the 11th perigee and usually a night equivalent to a sort of Christmas. It was originally to celebrate the lead up to the final perigee and to look back on your sweep. Now it is celebrated by trading gifts with your friends and quadrants and spending time with them. There are a lot of big marketing campaigns leading up to this social event and it's more of a money grab than anything else.

Important dates:

Registration dates: These dates are for the kids who have turned 9 sweeps old and need to fill out their colony registrations.
-
Registration Night: The first night of registration, you have until the final night of registration to fill out all your information and choose a colony to join. You need to go down a list of all the Emissaries colonies and put them in an order most fitting to what you want. Lowbloods will likely not get their first 3 choices but it will also depend on how soon you submit. You also need to fill out all the information for your new adult ID card and provide a blood sample in a vile you will be given when the papers are distributed.
-
Last Night of Registration: This is the cut off date to submit your registration Information. If you are late you will need to fill everything out on the night of remotion and you will not have a choice of what colony you will be sent to.
-
Registration Acceptance: On this night newly recognized adults will be given their new ID cards and acceptance notices for their colonies. This usually comes with information on your colony and the Emissary that rules over it as well as a list of things to get you prepared for the last step and what to expect. Limes and Mutants do not get any papers or ID cards.
Remotion: this is the night all newly recognized adults will be transferred off of the kid planets. If you do not leave on this night you will be culled since your hive will be occupied with new kids and lusii once you leave. You need to have all your acceptance papers and ID ready to go. During the transfer when going though to your terminal you will need to prick your finger and match your DNA with the DNA on your card and the registry so you can't skate by with any stolen ID cards, if you do you will be culled. Limes and mutants need to go back to the late registration terminal but once they provide a blood sample and their DNA is recognized they will be dragged off by drones into a different terminal. Drones are there during this time to help direct and organize everyone until they leave the atmosphere and head off to their new colonies.
The Annual Empire Games: This week is akin to the Olympics of sorts and each night is the final of one of the huge sports on alternia, pod racing, gladiator fights, all of the empires major sports finals are this week. The ruler of the empire is always the one to open the games.
