Kid planets

There are 3 kid planets each with the resting capacity of 10 billion.

With around 300 billion trolls there needs to be room for all of them. With such a big number there of course arouse the problem of kid planets, one kid planet like in canon could not possibly hold that many kid trolls even with original Alternia being a bigger planet.  How it ended up as 3 was by looking at the scale of the empire. Looking into the population of earth and adult to kid populations there ended up being 33 billion trolls under 9 sweeps. That's only if the adults are required to provide their genetic make up once. Let's say that 2% don't make it to adulthood despite Aleph Null's kids planets having everything pretty well controlled and organised. Alternia is still violent as we all know and they tend to just take out defects before they become a problem. It is an inhumane dystopia after all. Even then the kids rest at 30 billion at one time give or take. When you are working with such big numbers it will be likely you need more room so thats what happened.

The three worlds are known as Alpha (original) Alternia, Beta Alternia, and Gamma Alternia, each have a resting capacity of 10 billion at a time give or take. Both Beta and Gamma are not actually planets, they are moons! To start Gama is a bit bigger than Alpha Alternia, while beta is about the same size. Both of these worlds revolve around gas giants. Alpha Beta and Gamma are all set up to look like replicants of each other. They all have brooding caverns and a set of mother grubs and groups of adult jades to help take care of them. No other adults beside Luminary are allowed to step foot on one of the kid worlds.  The only real differences are land masses, skies and suns.

There is also a 4th kid planet in the making, Delta which is still in the process of terraforming. Delta is also a moon, not a planet itself. The only trolls allowed on Delta however are adult jades who will work there, and highbloods who are working on architecture, terraforming and  anything else that goes into building up a planet and making it liveable. A lot of them work with drones to help build everything so a lot of organic workers aren't required. That and they work hand in hand with Her Unassailable Luminary herself who oversees the whole process.

Brooding Caverns

The brooding caverns are also not actual caverns, it's just the name that's given to the facilities that take care of the eggs and grubs. These facilities are ran by jade bloods who choose to stay and nanny drones made to work as caretakers. Mother grubs also are taken care of here, there are multiple mother grubs on each planet, some of which are not in use. Genetic material cant be stored for long but the collector drones tend to drop it off at points in these places. They also keep lusi in these facilities. They are there to take the

kids after they pupate from grubs to toddler trolls. It's honestly set up a lot like the creation labs in Jurassic park. It's probably the best way to keep track of everything and monitor eggs and grubs and take care of them. Everything is clean and sanitized to make sure infant trolls get the care they deserve until they are strong enough to fend for themselves. It isn't as barbaric as historical alternia.  Once a grub hatches they are automatically taken into care and away from the other eggs (mostly because grubs are known to eat other unhatched eggs or other weaker grubs in their clutch). Every grub hatched is registered into a database and DNA is taken from each to match them with a bloodline and give them a sign. If there is no genetic ancestor when the troll grows older they will be able to design their own sign. There are thousands of signs in existence, designs can range from extremely simple or to extremely intricate. every sign however acts as a sort of genetic family crest.

Hives

After leaving the cavers with their lusus they are provided with their own pre-made hives. Lower blood kids usually live in apartments like hivestems or hives that are squished together in suburban layouts to save on space. Midbloods usually live in suburban type areas with bigger hives and more space. The highblood kids are provided with bigger hives from two story ones to full mansion-like hives for sea dwellers (usually next to bodies of water or under the water itself). All of these hives are fully customizable using hologram like technology to decorate any which way the kid wants to and has all of the necessities a young troll would need to survive. These hives get reused with every new batch of trolls. When one generation becomes adults they move on and the new generation takes their place. This saves the empire money by reusing ready made hives instead of destroying and rebuilding for every young troll.

Allowance system

Alternian kids are actually given a type of allowance system with a certain amount of credit once a month to spend on whatever they want to. Lowbloods usually have less credit given to them while highbloods tend to already have access to full on fortunes left behind by their ancestors. This in a way teaches trolls how to handle their own money before becoming adults and eventually needing to implement it in their own adult lives.

Schooling system

There is an implemented schooling system and it is carried out with the help of the nanny drones. When you come of age to attend school you will be picked up by a nanny drone along with all of the other kids who are your age that are attending. If you fight it there will be consequences, it’s best not to do so. To get this out of the way all blood colors are expected to attend school besides lime bloods and mutants. They are not required to do so and they also will not be registered to attend. If they want to learn anything they are going to need to do it by themselves.

How it is set up is similar to the Dutch schooling system where it is separated by “expertise”. The difference is you do not get to choose what expertise you go into it is decided by your blood color. The classes that do have blood colors mingling are usually elective type classes as well as physical education type stuff.

At the start you learn all the basic forms of reading and writing and basic mathematics and history. That is the foundation and all alternian kids are required to take it for two sweeps or so. The second stage works differently for different blood castes. It is broken up into 3 separate factions, lowblood midblood and highblood classes. These three branches are again all segregated and they do not mingle inside the schooling system aside from elective classes.

  • Lowblood classes: Lowbloods ranging from rust to gold all get the most basic of formal education. You learn what is needed to get by as an adult which in a professional sense isn’t that much. You learn basic literature with writing and arithmetic but nothing more substantial to be professional. This goes for sciences and technology as well as government and history. Government is an interesting one for lowbloods because they don’t learn how any laws are made or how to understand them they are more so told what the laws are and to follow them. You’re more taught what you can’t do as a lowblood rather than what you can. Lowbloods have the shortest list of options for elective classes and the ones that are usually most open to them are classes that deal with blue collar work or domestic services.

  • Midblood classes: Midbloods ranging from olive to teal take courses that are more advanced than lowbloods but not on the level of highblood classes. They learn a decent amount of required skills for managing smaller businesses and participating in law enforcement under highbloods. Most of their education deals more with interaction and service oriented work. They deal more in the assistance of highbloods and in the process get a decent grasp on writing and editorial, finances and mathematics, sciences, as well as a better understanding of law enforcement and history. There are also elective classes open to midbloods with a wider range then lowbloods but less then highbloods. The elective classes that open up are usually those that deal with the entertainment industry and more artistic avenues. They can also take spaces of lowbloods in elective classes without notice.

  • Highblood classes: Highbloods ranging from cerulean to purple tend to all take the same courses. Violets can choose to participate in a public setting or choose to have personal tutors. These casts learn the skills that are required for professional, managerial or administrative work. They technically have a higher education leaning more towards how to construct essays and speeches, solve higher level math problems, learn more about science research and development, have a better understanding or government and law enforcement, how to manage other people, and how to handle finances. They also get the widest range of chosen electives and can take any low or midbloods space without notice if the class is full.

Elective and physical education type classes

Elective classes are all chosen classes just like any schooling system but in the Alternian Empire there is a wider range of more real world applications. For example domestic services for lowbloods, you are actually taught how to cook, do hivekeeping, laundry, shopping for food, gardening, and other personal services. You actually learn how to serve other people. Then there are other electives like mechanic workshops where you learn more about robotics and mechanics. Technology and cybernetic electives, programming and cyberspace maintenance. There are art and design electives, social studies electives, entertainment electives. Anything that has a future job in society there is probably a class on. But again there are still classes that have segregation requirements.

Physical education type classes have about the same equivalent to any other PE class type set up. There is however a more militarized type set up. Highbloods usually get to be in leader positions during team type sports and midbloods also generally organize the lowblood kids when the highblood kids are making the decisions. Highblood kids also have actual control over what others do in physical education type classes with the help of whatever nanny drone is the head of the class. Yes they can choose to have the entire class play dodge ball every night of the sweep if they wanted to. There are little to no repercussions for being rough in these types of classes.

Adult preparation and coming of age transit

Half way through the last sweep of living in the kid planet young trolls start to get email type reminders that it’s time to get ready to make the shift into adulthood. These reminders are sent to every troll including the limes and mutants. Nanny drones and recorded announcements will also be there to remind those who fall behind or don't read the emails.

The difference between them is the limes and mutants will not receive a verification for which colony they will be joining as an adult. Instead limes and mutants get instructions to attend the transit day and make sure to register as a lime or mutant to take their next steps. There is no explanation as to why and they will not get one until the time of transit.

Every other kid will get a notification of what colonies they will be assigned under, who your

tyrian emissary is, extra information about your colony as well as what to expect and what to take with you. Highbloods have the opportunity to choose their own colonies and if they have lowerblood friends they can choose to fill out overrides to make sure they all are on the same colony. All lowbloods and most midbloods do not get this option and are usually stuck with whatever colony they are assigned. As a side note, no you can not take your lusus with you, unless you are a highblood but even then it is iffy.

When the time finally comes to transit you need to make sure everything is in order because drones will come knocking at your door and kick you out of your hive. It’s best not to retaliate because you will get culled. As a newly recognized adult you need to have all your papers ready to go before you get to the transit station. It’s sort of set up like a giant train station and airport. Once you have everything registered you are given a new identification card and directions to your colony terminal. Yes even then it’s segregated where the highbloods get the personal lounge area with the bar and food. Midbloods get a higher priority usually leaving the lowbloods to take the empty benches or just sit on the floor or stand around waiting until it’s time to board. It’s best to make new connections during this time it usually takes a while for everyone to get settled and there is a lot of waiting.

The ID cards that newly recognized adults will be given look like this. They get renewed every 10 sweeps or so for lowbloods, every 30 sweeps for midbloods and every 100 sweeps for highbloods or when a troll changes colonies.

Also during this time you can also choose to take the path into the military there are multiple kiosks that advertise registration in the terminal itself. Yes there is the earliest time you can register at 16 years of age or 7.5 sweeps. If you register earlier you skip this entire process and have most likely already completed basic training, having already gotten a jump start. (You can choose this unless you are a lime or mutant).

As for the odd ones out. The limes and mutants will not enter adult society. They are instead directed to a different terminal that is completely separated from all of the others. Their positions will be taken from them and instead they will be given new registration as well as their new uniforms. They do not get identifications they instead get a number and brief description written in a databank. They are pretty much told to sit down and wait for direction, you do not talk to other people you do not ask questions, you do not retaliate it will most likely result in warning or culling.
